“Our Specialized Dog Bathing Process”

Having your friend bathed on a regular basis is important for their coat and skin health. Dead skin, dirt, pollen and allergens will build up over time, causing issues. Having them cleaned using a high-quality shampoo and equipment will allow their skin to “breath” and remove irritating particles.

Step 1:

Our bath service starts with evaluating the coat’s need for brushing and removing undercoat before they get in the tub. We use specially designed stainless steel bathing tubs that allow warm water to drain as we get wet and silly. Our house shampoo is a detergent-free, fragrance neutral, product designed specifically for dogs and (funny enough) show horses. The shampoo is made to be safe for use on all sensitive areas including the eyes.

Step 2: Removing “Wet Dog” Smell

After getting all rinsed off, we use a high-velocity dryer to blow the water molecules from the skin. This is an important step because the infamous “wet dog” smell that results from thicker coated dogs drying slowly. Water that remains at the skin will lead to bacterial growth that produces that smell, removing the water immediately after the rinse ensures your friend will remain smelling fresher longer.

Step 3: Final Drying & Brushing

After we are done in the bathtub, we move to the final drying and brushout, removing all that hair that was released during the bath. At the finish, we grind the nails short and smooth, and clean out the ears using high quality pet ear cleaner. We also check the paw pads (area between doggie toes) to see if they need to be shaved, the fur in this area can become overgrown making it uncomfortable for them to walk as well as causing them to slip/slide on inside floors. Finally, we set them up with a seasonal bandana.
